Hi I’m Howard, and I want to welcome you to my site.
I graduated from Sussex University back in 1985 with an honours degree in Cider Drinking, erm, I mean Computer Science, and for most of my life I’ve been involved in computers in one way or another.
Having ran my own software development company was fun for a while, and over the past years have had a hand in writing PPC bid management software for The Search Works/The Technology Works, some interesting XML processing work for Buffalo based Synacor Inc., and currently I’m Software Development Manager at Linden Lab, the makers of Second Life.
I have a ton of interests:
- Music — having played guitar since I was in my early teens, been in several bands, dutifully attended piano lessons from aged 7 until I achieved Grade 7
- Software — well, it’s my job to write it, no matter what the language it’s always a thrill to solve a programming problem
- Hypnosis — I spent four years or so as a hypnotist, and always enjoy learning more about the art
- Electronics — if its got an LED, I’m interested
Of course, I’m always playing with technology, and this site is just one of those playgrounds. I usually use it as a testing area for different ideas I have.
